the world, and enable all members to feature their companies and services.
Information gathering : all group members were asked about what they wanted on the web site.
This exercise drew on the opinions of people all over the world, and here the benefits of email were only
Page design : images were deliberately kept to a minimum to reduce download times, using bold,
solid colours to generate impact.
Site navigation : the key sections are devoted to the member listings. All members were able
to display basic details, and full members each had a link to their own information page in which they were
able to showcase details about their companies, in a fairly free format. Navigation was kept very simple to help
users for whom English is not their first language.
Despite the difficulties of co-ordinating input from all over the world, the website was finished and
launched in time for the annual meeting of the group.
The best recommendation of all : Activia were then invited to fulfil all hosting and maintenance
for the site.
